Week in Review – 30 June

flgowrley

This week was definitely dominated by the opening of Cut & Paste: 400 Years of Collage, now open at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. It was such a treat to attend the private view, and to get to enjoy a show that featured so many collaged objects (and so many from before 1900!). Apparently the reviews so far are really good, which is so exciting to hear! I’ll post some here as they come in.

Otherwise, here’s what else caught my attention this week:

The CFP for the Association for Art History’s 2020 Annual Conference is now open

I really enjoyed listening to Dr Maddy Pelling discuss period dramas in an age of #metoo on the Pop Englightenments podcast

This book, published as part of the Public Domain Review project, on the Language of Flowers in the Victorian period

Finally, I’m excited to visit the new exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland: Wild and Majestic: Romantic Visions of Scotland, co-curated by Dr Roseanne Waine
